Will County Executive

Born and raised in Will County around her family’s small business, Jennifer Bertino- Tarrant is no stranger to hard work and determination and brings a no-nonsense, bipartisan style to public service that reflects the shared values of residents. As Will County Executive, she has focused on strengthening the local economy and ensuring Will County remains a statewide leader in attracting jobs and new residents. In her first term, Jennifer has overseen historic investments in infrastructure, public safety, mental health services, and workforce programs. Her forward-thinking approach includes modernizing services to make government more efficient, expanding access to transportation for seniors and people with disabilities, promoting community development, and solidifying Will County’s role as a green energy leader in Illinois. Jennifer began her career teaching high school students before becoming a school principal. Jennifer first entered public service in 2006 when she was elected as Will County Regional Superintendent of Schools. Prior to her role as County Executive, Jennifer served two terms in the Illinois General Assembly. As a State Senator, Jennifer was a leading advocate for public education and focused on improving the lives of seniors, veterans, and working families.

Kevin "Duffy" Blackburn

Serving his fourth term as Will County Auditor, Kevin “Duffy” Blackburn is a seasoned financial professional with a strong background in auditing and public finance. His career has been marked by roles in both the private and public sectors, where he has consistently demonstrated his ability to oversee complex financial operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Blackburn’s dedication to public service is evident in his commitment to transparency and integrity in government finances. He has a proven track record of identifying inefficiencies, uncovering financial discrepancies, and implementing corrective measures to safeguard public funds. Blackburn’s meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills have earned him the respect of colleagues and stakeholders alike, being awarded the Illinois County of Auditor of the Year in 2011 and is a multiple-award-winner for excellence in financial reporting and government transparency. Blackburn aims to enhance the efficiency and accountability of the county’s financial operations. He plans to continue introducing advanced auditing techniques, improve financial reporting systems, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the auditor’s office. Blackburn is also committed to increasing public awareness and understanding of the county’s financial health through regular updates and transparent reporting. Andrea Lynn Chasteen

Circuit Court Clerk

Andrea Lynn Chasteen is a dedicated and experienced public servant. She began her career with the Circuit Clerk’s Office in 1995 at an entry-level position, worked her way up into management and was elected Circuit Court Clerk in 2016.

Chasteen’s work has included efforts to streamline court processes, improve public access to legal resources, and enhance the overall user experience within the judicial system. She championed civil and criminal e filing in the County; nearly 100% of civil pleadings including now court orders are filed electronically. These initiatives highlight her commitment to making the court system more responsive and effective for all citizens of Will County. Chasteen is focused on continuing efforts to leverage technology to modernize court operations and improve service delivery. She plans to implement advanced case management systems, expand online services, and enhance communication channels to better serve the public. Andrea is committed to fostering a culture of professionalism and integrity within the clerk’s office.

Laurie Summers

Coroner

Laurie Summers has brought transparency, integrity, and compassion to the role of Will County Coroner. With a background in healthcare and public service, Summer has the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the Coroner’s office provides professional services to Will County residents.

During her time in office, Summers has implemented several key initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Coroner’s office. She has prioritized the use of modern forensic technologies and has worked to enhance the training and education of her staff. Under her leadership, the office has improved its response times, streamlined processes, and established strong collaborations with law enforcement and other agencies. Summers’ efforts have ensured that the office provides timely and accurate information to families and the community, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and care. Summers’ plans to further invest in forensic technologies, improve community outreach programs, and advocate for resources that support the mental health and well-being of her staff. Summers is committed to maintaining the office’s reputation for excellence and compassion, ensuring that the needs of Will County residents are met with the utmost respect and professionalism.

Michelle Stiff

County Clerk

Michelle Stiff is running for Will County Clerk to continue her lifelong pursuit of helping others and serving her community. A former educator and the current Director of Will County Workforce Services, Michelle is a seasoned public servant and community advocate with a focus on ensuring government services are provided efficiently and fairly.

As Will County Clerk, Michelle promises to conduct our elections with integrity, honesty and transparency and will make every effort to help protect your right to vote. Her vision is to create a user-friendly office that effectively serves all Will County residents, reflecting her belief that government should operate with openness and inclusivity. Michelle is dedicated to bringing innovative solutions and responsive leadership to the Will County Clerk’s office. Residing in Will County with her family, Michelle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s in Special Education and Educational Administration from Governor’s State University. She has been an active community advocate, serving on the board of a local nonprofit that empowers underrepresented groups and volunteering at community organizations such as her local food bank. She also serves as President of the Joliet Township High School District 204 and is a member of the National Hook-Up of Black Women Joliet chapter.

Karen A. Stukel

Recorder of Deeds

Karen A. Stukel has served with distinction and dedication as the Will County Recorder of Deeds since 2008. With a background in real estate and public administration, Stukel has effectively managed the office, ensuring the accurate and timely recording of property transactions.

Her tenure has been marked by significant advancements in record-keeping technology and a commitment to enhancing the accessibility and reliability of public records. Stukel’s leadership has helped maintain the highest standards of service for the residents of Will County. During her time in office, Stukel has implemented several key initiatives aimed at modernizing the Recorder’s office. She has overseen the transition to digital record- keeping, reducing reliance on paper records and improving the efficiency of document retrieval. Stukel has also expanded online services, allowing residents and businesses to access vital records from the convenience of their homes or offices. Her focus on utilizing technology to streamline operations has resulted in a more user-friendly and efficient office, benefiting both the public and the real estate community. Stukel will continue her commitment to innovation and service excellence. She plans to further enhance the office’s technological capabilities, introduce additional online tools, and ensure that the Recorder’s office remains a model of transparency and efficiency. Stukel is dedicated to maintaining the trust and confidence of the community by providing accurate, accessible, and reliable services.

James Glasgow

State’s Attorney

James Glasgow has served as the State’s Attorney of Will County since 1992. Glasgow has built a reputation as a tough but fair prosecutor committed to justice and community safety.

His tenure has been marked by high-profile cases, including the prosecution of former police officer Drew Peterson for the murder of his spouse. This case garnered national attention and showcased Glasgow’s dedication to pursuing justice, even in complex and challenging circumstances. Throughout his career, Glasgow has implemented several innovative programs to improve the criminal justice system in Will County. He established the Will County Drug Court, the Veterans Court, and the Mental Health Court, which provide alternative sentencing options aimed at rehabilitation rather than incarceration. These programs have been lauded for their effectiveness in reducing recidivism and helping individuals rebuild their lives. Glasgow’s forward-thinking approach demonstrates his commitment to addressing the root causes of crime and providing support to those in need. Beyond his prosecutorial duties, Glasgow is actively involved in the Will County community. He frequently participates in public safety initiatives, educational programs, and community outreach efforts. He helped establish the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center to improve the integrity of all investigations into allegations of child sexual abuse, while providing hope, healing and justice for the children and their families. His involvement extends to advocating for victims’ rights and supporting local law enforcement agencies. Glasgow’s long-standing dedication to public service and community well-being has earned him widespread respect and recognition, making him a central figure in the pursuit of justice in Will County.
