Being a Precinct Committeeperson (PC) is one of the most important roles in our party. As a PC, you are on the ground talking to neighbors, making phone calls, and working hard to elect Democrats up and down the ballot.

What are the Responsibilities of a
Democratic Precinct Committeeperson?

  • Voter Registration and Engagement: Registering new voters and helping to educate voters about the voting process, including important dates and requirements.
  • Communication and Outreach: PCs act as a liaison between the Democratic Party and the voters in the precinct, helping to promote the Democratic Party, candidates and local issues. You can do this by distributing party literature and campaign material on behalf of candidates or arrange an event in your neighborhood or community to help introduce candidates to the public.
  • Organizing and Mobilizing Voters: PCs also help recruit and coordinate volunteers for campaign activities, such as canvassing, phone banking, and community events. They also help organize precinct meetings, house parties, and other gatherings to discuss political issues and party strategies.
  • Representation: Attend and participate in local Democratic Party meetings
  • Election Day Activities: PCs are often asked to help monitor polling places on Election Day to help ensure election activities are running fair and smooth. They also assist with get-out-the-vote (GOTV) efforts on Election Day including canvassing and phone banking and providing rides to voters who might need assistance accessing their polling place on Election Day.
